Butler, Joan M. Passed away peacefully from a brief, serious illness in Miami Beach, FL, on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the age of 84. Daughter of Vera and John Molloy from Whitefish Bay. Wife of William Burton Vedder and James Butler. Raised four children in Wauwatosa and is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren. Joan touched the lives of many people. She was a kind, loving person who shared her life. Joan often reached out to help those in need. She was a soloist and a church choir member. Joan was a volunteer at the Milwaukee Food Pantry and the Milwaukee Catholic Home, where she also served on the Board of Directors. Other accomplishments included being a writer and author. She loved to share her life experiences through her stories. She was also a published editorial contributor. Joan had great times in Lake Park as a member of the Milwaukee Lawn Bowling Association. Other enjoyments included reading, and being near water. The Great Lakes and the ocean gave her great joy, peace, and harmony. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, with Mass to follow at the Holy Rosary Church, 2011 North Oakland Avenue. This will be followed by a luncheon at the church. You will be lovingly missed by all.
